Reach Out- Make a point to connect with people who are doing what it is you’re considering. During my exploration, I connected with several coaches that I respect to learn more about their business, how they got started, what their business was like, etc.
Take a Big Break – If you can’t come up with anything new or interesting, you may need to get away from your event planning session. Step away and do something out of character to change your mental state and spark your creative juices. Maybe a day at the spa, complete with massage and facial, is just the thing you need to refresh and replenish a sluggish event planning brain. Take a day-trip to a local landmark or nature preserve. Get away. Breathe. Exercise. Meet your friends for lunch or a movie. Clear your mind, and new creative event ideas will flood in.
As for the other part of the statement, management, that is a bit easier. Management is knowing where you are, where you want to go and how you will get there. So by marrying them back together, management of perception, you now have a guide for marketing. You want to market yourself to get your company from where it is now to where you’d like to be and would like to be perceived.
One more aspect to consider is the site of the party. Throwing the party at home will help to keep the cost down, but it will also require more work when you consider party prep and post party clean up. Having the party elsewhere might cost a little more, but because there are fewer responsibilities before and during the party, you can enjoy the party a little more. Outdoor parties require a lot more work simply because you will need to consider alternate plans should the weather not cooperate. In the event the weather is warm, you may also need to develop cooler, more shaded areas for relief from the heat and sun.
Limit the party length. In this case, less is more. Plan enough time for games, cake and fun. But don’t go overboard. If the festivities go too long and the activities run out, the guests will be restless. They’ll still want to be entertained and your child may not know how to handle them.
Set the dates – you need 1 date for the host to get the guest list back to you (if you are mailing the invitations), and 1 date for the party. Make sure you both get a written copy of these important dates.
Party games for kids of a certain young and tender age should still be innocent, simple and fun. When you are hosting a party, it helps to have a theme. This way the same game that was played at a party last month can have a little Eng————lish put on it to make it different. All of the following games can be adapted to suit your specific theme. Or at least most of them can since at this point in the process of writing this article I haven’t yet chosen the games I want to alert party planning parents to.
You aren’t the child’s parents, so it’s not your responsibility to discipline. If you’ve taken reasonable measures to correct the problem and nothing has worked, you have the right to remove the child from the party. It’s not fair to the other children who are trying to enjoy the experience and have fun.
